These lines have been written before
This winter tree was here last year
Speckled leaves remnants of fall
Small simple beauty

This sunrise was here yesterday
I sat here on the same couch
Watching this morning appear
The same way it does everyday

My cup of chai will be here tomorrow
And so will I watching
This little bird on an empty tree
